Professional Experience
A multiple tour combat veteran of the United States Air Force and Army, Mattson brings military experience focused on capacity building, civil military operations, and humanitarian response.
Mission Contributions
Mattson brings experience in humanitarian crises from the private sector, government, and nonprofit leadership to Grey Bull Rescue Foundation. As a global confederation leader, he built economic empowerment and emergency relief programs with last-mile communities facing hunger, poverty, and catastrophes around the world. To best support farmers in East Africa, Mattson lived and worked alongside them and learned the local languages. Throughout the U.S., he led teams of veterans to engage communities and respond to natural disasters, such as Hurricanes Harvey and Maria. Mattson holds a BS in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, and an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
